Labneh recipes

You can vary endlessly with the Labneh recipes from our Zuivelarij. Spread the Labneh on your prettiest plate, finish with a nice topping, salsa, chutney, fresh or dried herbs and lots of olive oil. Traditionally, you serve Labneh with flatbread as mezze.

Labneh can be used in recipes to replace sour cream or cream cheese. Our Labneh gives your preparation a rich flavor but at the same time a fresh and sour touch. Use labneh instead of tomato sauce on your pizza, as a base for a hearty tzatziki, in spicy Indian sauces, as a healthier mayonnaise or as a base for homemade spreads & dips. You can also combine it with our delicious Berloumi.

Labneh with leek confit and fenugreek

Coriander seeds and fenugreek leaf go very well with this simple but festive preparation. For fenugreek leaf, you will have to go to the Indian store or replace it with dried parsley.

California Dip

1970s classic from the United States of America. We use our labneh instead of sour cream and mayo and pimp the dip with pine nuts.

Hot oven roasted pumpkin with sumac and hazelnut

Sumac is a dried berry with a sour taste and a somewhat smoky fragrance that suits autumn perfectly.

Cauliflower tzatziki

Coarsely shave a cauliflower on a kitchen grater and mix with labneh, a little white balsamic vinegar and a little extra salt. Finish with green herbs and nice olive oil.

Labneh with guacamole

Guacamole is often eaten with sour cream. It just so happens that our labneh can perfectly replace the most delicious sour cream. Don’t put the labneh in the guacamole, but on the side, with warm tortilla chips or bread.

Labneh with candied lemon, za’atar and mint

We made this labneh recipe with ingredients available at Colruyt, because we secretly hope that one day our labneh will be available at Colruyt. Ask the store manager about it, it helps us!

Labneh with brown butter, walnuts and sage

When we think of labneh, we often think of summer tapas but that is unjustified. You can also top labneh with tasty winter ingredients. This labneh topping does require a little explanation.

Labneh with candied fennel and orange

Boiling the fennel in orange juice for a long time makes it thoroughly cooked and tender. The spicy juice is then boiled down to syrup thickness and the fennel is briefly sautéed. All this for extra flavor.
