Labneh is yogurt as it was once meant to be eaten: not sweet, but savory.

Labneh, labne, lebne, laban, hangop, uitgelekte yoghurt, yoghurtkaas, …
Labneh is a very thick, slightly salted, long-drained yogurt originating from Middle Eastern cuisine. The yogurt has a sharp, slightly sour aroma that, combined with the mouthfeel, provides an intense taste. In our Dairy we still make the cheese in the traditional way. The yogurt leaches for 48 hours in linen bags. All the goodness of the yogurt is thus concentrated.
The Middle East on your plate
You don’t eat Labneh like other yogurts. You eat it as a dip, snack, mezze, sharing, savory breakfast, healthy meal or meat substitute. Spread it on a nice plate, top with olive oil, fresh or dried herbs. Or use grilled vegetables and salsa, and eat with delicious flatbread. The possibilities with this savory yogurt are truly endless.
At our Dairy, we like to eat labneh as a healthy meal or as a sharing appetizer or side dish. With a little creativity, you can quickly and very easily bring a beautiful plate to the table.
